Join us this upcoming Oceans Week on June 7 from 11am-1pm for a coastal hike at Beaches Path! Please read below more more detailed information.
This hike will be hosted by Aquatic Conservation Initiative and Nature Newfoundland and Labrador on the Beaches Path section of the East Coast Trail. This guided walk will include nature and coastal interpretation inclusive of coastal morphology, seabirds and other wildlife, plants, and impacts to marine environments. Pace will allow for an all-ages event, beach combing, and coastal interpretation. Leaving from Witless Bay Trail Head, we will hike 1.5 km out to Camel Head, take a lunch break and hike back 1.5 km to trail head for a total of 3km.
Please wear appropriate footwear and attire, and review trail descriptions posted on East Coast Trail Website for best preparedness. Bring binoculars (if you have them).
Whale watching and Bird watching backpacks will be provided by Nature NL!
By participating, individuals acknowledge and accept personal responsibility for their safety while taking part in the hike.
